SCA has been involved in a review of the DIT Code of Practice
About the DIT Code of Practice Review
As part of our activities as SCA representatives on the DIT Commercial Construction Industry Forum (DCCIF) we have been involved in a review of the DIT Code of Practice which has not been revised since 2016.
This process has been interminably lengthy and to speed up the process the SCA representative on the Code of Practice working party recently gave a commitment to provide a revised version for consideration by the DCCIF and DIT.
This issue has been the subject of much debate for over a decade, and it is certainly past time for changes to be made to ensure the Code is appropriate and provides much needed change to contractual practices in Government procurement projects.
View both the current 2016 version and the SCA proposed amended version below.
The changes contained in the proposed 2024 version essentially seek to ensure the Code is fair, payments are made in accordance with the provisions of the contract, DIT has a far greater involvement in the compliance process, and we have also introduced penalties for non-compliance that include the loss of DIT Pre-Qualification accreditation.
This matter will be dealt with early in the new year.
